AFA Caregiver Support Groups

Caregiver Support Groups

“The support from people sharing their experiences was priceless. I got so many ideas from them, feedback on what to expect and how to handle situations, and accolades that I am doing my best as a caretaker.” – an AFA Support Group Member

Connecting with others is a vital part of the caregiving equation. However, with today’s busy schedules, caregivers may not be able to find time to, or be comfortable with, attending an in-person group. AFA offers free weekly, telephone based support groups, facilitated by AFA’s licensed social workers, designed to give caregivers a place to connect and share with one another.

Current Support Groups:

General Caregiver Support Group – Mondays, 7 pm to 8 pm (ET)

General Caregiver Support Group – Thursdays, 7 pm to 8 pm (ET)

General Caregiver Support Group – Fridays, 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm (ET)

Support Group for Family Members Whose Loved Ones Reside in a Care Setting – Wednesdays 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm (ET)

How to Join a Support Group:

Register for a caregiver support group by contacting AFA’s National Toll-Free Helpline at 866-232-8484 or click on the chat icon in the lower right hand corner of this page to speak with one of our licensed social workers.
