Special Fundraising Projects

AFA is fortunate to to work with people who use their talents to create unique works designed to help support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.  Often, these projects are inspired by the creator’s own personal experiences with Alzheimer’s disease and were made as a way to give back to others facing similar challenges.  Proceeds from the sale of these works help AFA provide programs and services for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, support for caregivers and research towards a cure.  Some of these special projects, which are available to be purchased, are listed below.

“Lights of Hope”

The story behind the cause:

Acclaimed artist Blend Cota lost his mother several years ago to Alzheimer’s disease at the young age of 62.  While he was caring for her, he often used art as a therapeutic tool, giving him a way to “bring her back” to him, if even just for a few moments.  Blend’s desire to honor his mother’s memory and lend a helping hand to all those affected by Alzheimer’s led him to create “Light of Hope.”  Blend donated the painting, modeled off of AFA’s Light the World in Teal program, to help raise money for AFA’s programs and services.  Proceeds from the sale of “Light of Hope” will go towards funding AFA’s programs and services for families affected by Alzheimer’s.
